Professor Jiang Fengyi from Nanchang University led a scientific research team to embark on a long-term technological breakthrough and establish the third global technology route for LED chips in the field of epitaxial materials, parallel to Japan and the United States. With 46 enterprises above designated size and a main business income of 8 billion yuan, the LED industry in Jiangxi Province is still a "small industry", but its development potential is immeasurable.

In the favorable environment of vigorously developing strategic emerging industries, the semiconductor lighting industry chain continues to extend upstream and downstream, presenting a good situation where the leading role of the upstream is increasingly strengthened, and the application products and supporting industries in the middle and downstream are rapidly developing.

By seizing the opportunity of the pilot project of the national "Ten Cities, Ten Thousand Lamps" semiconductor lighting application project, Nanchang City, led by LatticePower, strengthens research on silicon substrate technology and applications, focuses on supporting the industrialization of silicon substrate chips, and focuses on developing LED mid to downstream application technologies and products. The head of the Electronic Information Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Commission of Industry and Information Technology revealed that according to the development plan of the top ten strategic emerging industries in Jiangxi Province, the LED industry will achieve a production capacity of 50 billion chips by 2015, and the industrial scale will reach 100 billion yuan.
