Micro LED, as the "ultimate display technology", has a market worth hundreds of billions in the future, and the report points out the advantages and challenges faced by Micro LED. For AR applications, Micro LEDs have excellent performance in brightness, energy efficiency, reliability, response time, color saturation, thickness, size, and other aspects, with huge market potential. However, there are currently significant technical challenges, including the need to improve effective EQE; High production cost and low yield; Poor brightness consistency; Poor grayscale response/brightness gradient effect; There is no ideal full color solution yet.


The technology of large-sized silicon substrate GaN LED has become the mainstream route for developing AR micro display Micro LEDs, and most Micro LED companies at home and abroad are researching. Micro LEDs based on silicon substrates have advantages such as large size, low cost, high wavelength consistency, non-destructive removal, low warping, and CMOS compatibility.
